Do I have to export every product image size myself?

Accepted Answer

No. You upload the original once and add width, height, quality or format to the delivery URL, and the proxy renders that variant on request and caches it. The format parameter takes webp, jpg or png, so the thumbnail and the zoom view come from the same file.

Can I swap a product photo without changing the URL in my shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Replacing the file keeps its id, so every link in your shop stays valid. Fairu reads size and dimensions from the new bytes afterwards and drops the cached renders of that file, so the next request rebuilds every variant.

What happens when I upload a whole product catalogue at once?

Fairu returns one presigned upload URL per file, valid for ten minutes, so the bytes go straight into storage instead of through the app. It then reads size, MIME type and dimensions itself. A name that already exists in the target folder gets a timestamp appended, so nothing is overwritten.

How do I connect my shop system to Fairu?

Over the REST API or GraphQL, with a token you create in the API keys area of your workspace: you tick the permissions it may use and set how long it lives. Statamic has an official addon, and Raku credentials give S3-compatible access for tools that only speak buckets.

Will a square crop cut the product out of the picture?

Accepted Answer

Not if the crop knows where the product sits. You click the spot on the image once and Fairu stores that focal point; every crop holds it as long as the URL carries it, and GraphQL can fill it in for you from the stored value. Having AI find the point instead needs AI switched on for the workspace, and it starts off.
